Things to see and do in Rockingham
Rockingham is a rapidly expanding regional centre 40 minutes south of Perth. The region arguably has some of the best beaches in the greater Perth area. With the stunning Shoalwater Marine Park (including Penguin and Seal Islands), unique north facing beaches of Palm Beach, Cape Peron Regional Park and the white Waikiki beaches it is a beach lovers paradise.

Sea Kayaking to Seal Island is one of the best sea kayaking trips anywhere. Crystal clear waters surround Shag Rock and Seal Island, jagged limestone cliffs, reefs and fish, plus magnificent swimming beaches. Snorkel with wild sea lions or maybe even the local dolphins. Visit Penguin Island - Catch a ferry (ph 9528 2004 or visit www.pengos.com.au), paddle or, for something different, walk across via the sandbar. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy a day at the island swimming and snorkelling in one of the magnificent and sheltered bays or take a stroll around the island. The CALM operated penguin shows are also very entertaining and don't forget your fishing gear!
Point Peron (Cape Peron) - Walk along the bay to Point Peron or take a short drive. Visit the gun sites at cape Peron, explore the limestone cliffs (please stay on the paths as it is a fragile environment) and magnificent beaches. There is great snorkelling off the beach. A cyclepath and walkway on the western side overlooking Mangles Bay - Garden Island Naval Barracks. Calm sheltered beaches on the west side which are great for children. Take an extended paddle and explore the rocky islands just off the point.
Wild dolphins - Rockingham's crystal clear waters are home to over 100 Bottlenose Dolphins that have become a major international tourist attraction.
